Grüner Veltliner USA Edition

 “Gruener Veltliner” is by far the most important white wine in Austria. Thanks to the deep loess in his vineyards, Hundsberg and Kirchenfeld, Paul D. is able to grow grapes that produce a lightly citrus and fresh wine.  
 

Color:

clear, bright, springtime green

Aroma:

fresh, yellow apple, sweet pea, mature citrus fruits

Taste:

green apple, pineapple, smooth with a slight ginger taste

Serve with: chicken or fish dishes, risotto
Haute cuisine: sautéed hake with a basil cream

„Gruener Veltliner“ has been grown on the slopes of Wagram Castle since 1849. The hilltop provides a picturesque view of the countryside for foreigners and locals alike. The wine grown here is known for its balanced fruit and fresh aroma.
 

Color:

clear, vibrant, lime green

Aroma:

fruity and exotic, white currant, sugar melon

Taste:

peach, banana, yellow peppers, slight acidity, full-bodied

Serve with: pork or vegetable dishes, curries
Haute cuisine:

medium steak filled with mushrooms and wrapped in serano ham, served with with a zucchini tart and mango chutney
